Waracle are proud to announce details of a collaborative development partnership in association with TAG Games of Dundee. Tag Games is an independent game development studio and publisher formed in 2006 by three game industry veterans keen to bring fresh experiences to mobile gaming initially, and then to other platforms.

The first TAG title “Dead Water” was released on J2ME mobile phones in September 2006 to widespread critical acclaim. Since then the studio has built an enviable reputation for innovation and quality, building strategic partnerships with a number of major games publishers and development studios around the globe. Waracle will be assisting TAG in the development and distribution of some innovative push notification technologies for iPhone, having recently deployed the software in conjunction with The Telegraph newspaper.

                                     

Having achieved profitability in early 2007 Tag raised seed investment from serial Scottish technology entrepreneur Bill Dobbie and the Scottish Enterprise seed fund in September 2007 to expand production capacity and to enable a more aggressive approach to publishing and licensing activity. Tag Games was featured at number 23 in the 2007 “02/Real Business 50 to watch in Mobile” listing, a welcome recognition of the quality of their games and the potential of their business strategy.
