January 11th 2012 saw the launch of the new Waracle website, with a new emphasis on developing social and online games. In late 2011, Waracle began work on a Facebook game for The European Nature Trust. The European Nature Trust (TENT) has embarked upon an exciting new project with Waracle to design, develop and support a unique and innovative Facebook game that promotes conservation. TENT leverage funding into conservation projects across Europe and are using the development of their Facebook game to help raise awareness of their cause and to generate revenue to re-invest in conservation activities. This is a great example of how brands and businesses can establish...

It seems that using Facebook is a double edged sword. It acts as a perfect shop window for thieves but can also get you arrested if you arent careful. According to recent reports from the USA, a 19 year old lad from Pennsylvania was arrested on felony charges for daytime robbery. The local police department could not believe their luck when they realised the young charlatan had left a trail of evidence in the victims home. Whilst the dozy thief made off with two diamond rings, he also forgot to log out of his Facebook account. Oh dear
The young man...

The Facebook iPhone development team has recently submitted an exciting software update to Apple for approval on the application store. Although the approval process can be notoriously fickle the application is expected to emerge on the store in the next day or two. There will be many new tantalising features making its way onto the software including the new style news feed, the ability to like stuff and an events manager. However, most exciting of all, is the ability to upload video directly to Facebook from your 3GS iPhone.
Whilst Facebook is massively popular for uploading pictures, it has always lagged...

Facebook is gearing up to launch its social networking presence in Swahili according to reports at the BBC yesterday. This gives the social networking titan the opportunity to tap into a new market of 110 million potential speakers of the language.
The launch has been achieved in collaboration with some Swahili University boffins having received permission from Zuckerbergs cohorts. Many social media commentators have discussed the possibility of a perfect fit between Facebook Connect and online games. At yesterdays E3 conference in sunny Los Angeles, Microsoft formally announced that both Facebook Connect and Twitter would be used to interface directly with the Xbox Live service starting in the autumn of 2009.
This would mean that friends and associated networks of gamers would have the option to compete against each other and subsequently publish the results to the respective social network or website. Early screen shots that have been previewed at the E3 conference are said to be more rudimentary. Gizmondo...

Although we are a day out of synch due to cross Atlantic time disparities, I thought it would be a nice touch to say congratulations and a warm happy birthday to Facebooks founder and general overlord, Mark Zuckerberg. Born on the 14th May 1984, the boy wonder yesterday reached the tender age of 25.
Given the success of his first venture, it would be challenging for anyone to argue that he has wasted his first quarter century. As you can see from the wonderful picture above, he has plenty to smile about, having recently been ranked by Forbes as the 321st...

The new mobile device 'Palm Pre' is widely being touted as a big challenger for the IPhone. Naturally, with such a tremendous competitor already wallowing proudly in the mobile market, the Palm Pre is faced with the monumental and unenviable challenge of convincing the general public that it has a superior product. However, Im sure this will not prevent them from trying.
Apple have so far blown millions of TV advertising dollars pimping many of the applications available on the IPhone, with a clear emphasis on games and enabling software such as 'Urbanspoon'. Conversely, Palm Pre must take a slightly different...

If you can remember the Internet in the late 1990s and early 2000s, before Google, the search engine landscape had a face, and his name was Jeeves. AskJeeves.com, the predecessor to Ask.com, was a popular search engine which used the balding cartoon character as its mascot. In 2006, however, Jeeves was "retired" as the search engines representative.
Today, Jeeves has reemerged, but only for the UK version of Ask. Whats more, hes diving into social media with his own Facebook and Twitter accounts.
According to SearchEngineLand, Ask found that Jeeves had 83% brand awareness, compared to 72% awareness for Ask.com - even...
