Scotland’s largest mobile and IoT specialist strikes new strategic partnership with ScottishPower

A seven-figure strategic partnership between Waracle and ScottishPower will create new jobs in Scotland, whilst helping the utility giant to develop new mobile and online services for their customers.

The agreement will see ScottishPower work with Waracle’s top mobile, UX and digital talent to improve existing mobile offerings for retail customers in the UK and across the wider Iberdrola group. The deal will also see ScottishPower build upon the opportunities presented by SMART metering.

David Romilly, Business Development Director at Waracle, which was recently acquired by Exception Ltd., said that the company was keen to bring the experiences of successful partnerships it had established within the Financial Services and Pharma industries to the Utilities sector with ScottishPower.

“It’s been a big year; we became part of the Exception Group, moved offices and continue to expand our team. We are delighted that we have this opportunity to share our expertise and innovation with such an important customer.”

ScottishPower already has a strong track record with mobile app development, including their ‘Your Energy’ service offering, which enables customers to remotely control their heating (water and heating), review and submit meter readings, manage energy usage, make payments and importantly review and change tariffs.

Waracle, which was this month named one of the best app developers globally and the only Scottish company to make the AppIndex list for 2016, was chosen as ScottishPower’s preferred partner thanks to the depth and variety of work it has successfully delivered in process efficiency, field sales and support solutions.
