Whether flying from Edinburgh or London, the iPhone® app lets you view Virgin flights on a 3D spinning globe. Waracle also developed a web based notification service that lets Virgin inform their customers of flight changes.

NHS Scotland selected Waracle to develop the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) iPhone app. The SDCEP app replicates print based guidance but significantly enhances its functionality through the use of search, favourites and bookmark features. NHS Scotland were keen to understand how people engaged with their iPhone app so Waracle provided an analytics package to help them understand user behaviour. Waracle also integrated a push notifications (APNS) service to allow NHS Scotland to communicate directly with app users.

Highland Park is an award winning, globally recognised whisky brand, owned by the Edrington Group. Waracle were approached by Highland Park to design, develop and support an iPhone and iPad app that enhances their brand and engages with new and existing customers. The Highland Park iOS app is a fully social app that allows users to attend a ‘whisky school’ and share their own personalised tasting notes with friends on Facebook.

The European Nature Trust (TENT) have embarked on an exciting project with Waracle to design, develop and support a unique Facebook game that promotes conservation. TENT leverage funding into conservation projects across Europe and are using the development of the game to help raise awareness of their cause and to generate revenue to reinvest in conservation. Waracle develop Facebook games, such as TENT, that generate revenue, raise brand awareness and increase user engagement.

Waracle were commissioned by SONY Music UK to design and develop a new website for Dundee band, The View. Our brief was to design a website in line with The View’s branding and focus on social media integration such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Waracle developed the site in weeks as per the client’s requirements.

As the largest supplier of iPhone apps to the Scottish Government, Waracle were perfectly placed to respond to Zero Waste Scotland’s request to develop a fun and engaging iPhone app that helps the public reduce their food waste. Upon release, the Zero Waste Scotland iPhone app reached Number 1 in the Apple App store and received international press coverage, featured by BBC Radio 2, The New York Daily news and BBC News online. The Scottish Football Association commissioned Waracle to develop an iPhone app to help engage with their fans and generate revenue. Waracle were selected ahead of iPhone developers from across the UK and developed an app that reached Number 1 on the Apple app store. Waracle developed a ‘world first’ iPhone® app for Public Contracts Scotland. Launched by Scotland’s Finance Minister, John Swinney, the PCS app helps businesses access tender opportunities on the move, resulting in efficiency savings for the public sector. We are in discussions to develop the PCS app for Google Android, BlackBerry and RIM over the coming months.

Waracle were commissioned by Mobile Pie to port the hugely successful My Star iPhone app game to the Android platform. Porting an iPhone app to an Android app takes specialist development expertise and an intricate knowledge of both platforms’ software development kits. We used the Cocos 2D development environment to port the game between the platforms resulting in a like-for-like user experience across iPhone and Android.
